Legal assistants are invaluable to making a law office run smoothly, and our legal assistants are the very best. They work directly with our clients and work on every type of matter that comes through our office doors.
Recently, I (Tana) asked our legal assistants what advice they would give to clients and potential clients to make their legal matters go more smoothly. Here’s what they had to say.
Sheri: My advice to new clients is to be completely honest to your attorney and be patient with them. Sometimes cases can get frustrating, but it’s important to remember you and your attorney are a team. They are working with you, not against you.
Jeni: Don’t be scared to ask any questions that you may have, the attorneys are here to help.
Legal assistants are in the office every day, and have access to our client files and the office calendars. They can often answer questions for clients when the attorneys are out of the office for court or meetings, so that clients don’t always have to wait for an attorney to return their call. They can schedule meetings and consultations so that clients know when an attorney will be calling. Legal assistants can also get messages to an attorney even when the attorney is in court, so responses can come more quickly to a client. My (Tana’s) advice is to work closely and cooperatively with our legal assistants, as they are here to help our clients as well.
Huge thanks to Jeni and Sheri for sharing their advice with our clients and potential clients, and for all the work that they do on a daily basis to assist us and our clients!
